When we first start to experience the paranormal..be it discovering we have abilities or experiencing activity around our homes or work places.it is all too easy to fall into the trap of thinking every little thing is paranormal..
Or lets put it into another context..We are having a rough time in life and bad things are happening and our minds are whirring...we are not thinking rationally and then we see something on TV or someone somewhere be it a friend or a psychic says its this then we have a OMG thats me moment!
Now this is sad to say in 95% of cases its NOT there is a perfectly rational reason for this occuring..stress can really make things real...and as we all know belief creates...be it bunnies or ghosts..or possession..or a haunting..or poltergeist activity..
The danger is when the person has past issues with mental health issues...or is having symptoms of some kind of disorder...and they make it fit...and then they go to see a psychic and they turn round and confirm it....cus they just want to make a quick buck or they don't know whats going on in that persons life and then gives some really bad advice and makes things worse.
Or the person calls in a team of so called investigators who then declare that person is possessed by bunnies...and needs an exorcism..
I cant stress enough how RARE this is....and how DANGEROUS it is in these cases to then put someone through it...or make them think that they are...it makes things worse for one and it delays treatment or the chance for the person to work out that they need to see a medical doctor...not a psychic...
When we are scared and alone and stressed out ..we all know how easy it is to put 2 and 2 together and make a billion...we grasp onto any branch that is thrown at us rather than to seek out a rational explanation or go to our doc or ask for help.
We have a duty as psychics or healers or investigators to make sure the advice we give is clear and if in doubt or if alarm bells go off to keep our mouths shut and guide the person to either see their doctor or get their house checked out first before they start to investigate...
We on the boards are used to dealing with such things and in extreme cases ...we take the person to one side and explain gently to them that we are not the ones who can help them and we are not qualified to do so....this is rare..we always offer help...but sometimes we cant and thats why we should always say..I'm sorry but I cant help you...but I think perhaps you need to speak to your doctor about this..i
In the case of haunting we need to make that person think rationally by taking away the fear factor and making them check for physical reasons as to why things are happening..
Then and only then when ALL the physical factors are taken out of the equation we can go in and offer advice and help them psychically....or send in an investigation team..
It does worry me the amount of shows that lean on the Bunny theory without checking out the persons mental state or getting a psychologist or doctor to check them out before the cameras role...some do..but most dont....we must be responsible for our actions and words...and if alarm bells go off we must act and either say we cant help them or refer them to someone who can and is qualified to do so..
Now not all people who are dealing with the paranormal are ill ...but for some its all to easy to miss the signs and not read between the lines..some are experiencing real phenomena..some are in the early stages of development..but in cases of extreme emotional distress or activity it is always best to get the person and the environment checked out..before we commit to helping them..
That is why I always tell people to outweigh the physical before we suspect the paranormal and its OK to admit we don't know how to help that person we are not failing them...by referring them to someone who can..we are helping in more ways we know...but its up to the person to go and admit this...we cant make them..but we have tried and thats a good thing...
